For 30 years I have been designing and building custom cabinetry and carpentry projects. While each new undertaking is different, there are a few considerations that never change, no matter how humble the task.
Ideally, each finished job is all three of the above. Working with homeowners, designers, and architects to develop and successfully realize a shared vision is what keeps me passionate about what I do.
Daniel Bowden founded Franklin Custom Carpentry in 1990. He has written for and been featured in a number of decor and woodworking magazines, and has appeared on several home-design television shows. For three years, he was the featured carpenter on HGTV’s Home to Stay.
He is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design and has studied fine art and woodworking in London, New York, and Toronto.
Daniel lives and works in Toronto.
“In my design practice, customer satisfaction is extremely important. Daniel and I have worked together on many occasions and his visual and verbal communication skills keep even complicated projects on track from start to finish. His approach dovetails perfectly with the needs of a wide variety of homeowners as well as other tradespeople, and I always feel confident having him on the job.”
“Unique ideas and a genuine ability to see design problems as opportunities make working with Daniel easy. I would definitely employ him again and would recommend his work without reservation.”
“Our family has worked with Daniel several times over the last 10 years. His ability to interpret ideas creatively and practically is invaluable, and his patience and attention to detail make each item he builds a source of both delight and utility.”
“Daniel Bowden is an artist. He created a beautiful reception desk at the gym I own and operate, and a gorgeous custom banquette in my home. Both jobs were done expertly and within the promised timeline, and were priced fairly. I would highly recommend Daniel for renovations and custom work. Thank you, Daniel!”
